What San Pedro chimneys do differently

Fog sits on the ocean side until midmorning. Masonry never gets a full dry cycle. Salt air off the harbor eats galvanized caps and damper plates. Corners rust first. Work the handle yourself. A plate that won't seat flat is corroded, not bent. Creosote in a damp flue stays tacky instead of flaking loose, so brushing alone often leaves it behind.
